Shipping Methods and Charges

At Surfas Culinary District we do our best to offer competitive rates on shipping (subject to change based on energy and surcharges from shippers). We do not ship items C.O.D.

**Please note, any promotions with free shipping do not apply to over sized items, perishable items, or those requiring an additional fee. Expedited or overnight shipping does not apply to the free shipping promotions unless explicitly specified. Free shipping offered on Refrigerators and Freezers is for the Continental United States excluding HI, AK, and all territories. 

We offer 3 standard shipping options: Ground, Expedited and Overnight. Expedited and Overnight charges will vary based on location. Up to the minute rates are available by using the "Shipping Calculator" in our floating shopping cart found at the top right of every page. Click on the YELLOW "Your Cart" to access this.

All packages to AK, HI, US Territories, APO/FPO, and PO Boxes will be shipped by U.S. mail. Up to the minute rates can be found by entering your state and zip into the floating cart at the top right of the page after you are finished adding products to it. Rates are calculated based on location and order total.

Special charges may apply for all orders that are oversized or that exceed the following weights:

  • Ground Shipments Over 25 lbs.
  • 3-Day Shipments Over 15 lbs. and up to 250 lbs. (over 250 lbs. cannot ship expedited)
  • Next Day Shipments Over 10 lbs. and up to 150 lbs. (over 150 lbs. cannot ship overnight)

Oversized orders may include large equipement purchases. Equipment that must be shipped freight will have the cost recalculated based on up to the minute FedEx freight quotes and the customer will be contacted by a customer service representative.  

Please note that all perishable food orders will only be shipped FedEx expedited or overnight and that it is the responsibility of the customer to make sure that someone is able to sign for the package.

Surfas Culinary District will not reimburse any costs for perishable items that were not signed for at time of delivery.

Deliveries requiring a signature are subject to additional shipping fees. Customers not available to sign for their packages during a scheduled drop off, thus returning the delivery to the sender, will not be reimbursed for their shipping fees, and can incur additional fees over original costs.

Orders shipping to AR will incur sales tax.

Warm Weather Shipments

Temperature sensitive products are shipped on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday only with this option.

You may upgrade the handling of your purchase to the temperature protective option for an additional $4.50 fee if this option is available. This includes an insulated crate in addition to ice packs.

A responsible person must be present to receive delivery of temperature critical shipments. Surfas Culinary District is not responsible for damage that may occur if a responsible recipient is not present to accept delivery. **Warm weather shipping does not apply to International orders.

Split Shipments

Surfas Culinary District will do its best to ship all items at the same time in the most efficient packaging possible. If any item on your order is out of stock, you will be notified to determine the best method of order completion for you. In many cases, Surfas Culinary District may ship items directly from the manufacturer and you may receive separate shipments to complete your order. These items are noted as such on the item's page under the shipping tab.

 

Order Processing and Delivery Time (Estimates)

Surfas Culinary District ships from approximately 10-14 different vendors and manufacturers besides items found in our warehouse. We are committed to providing the quickest service and delivery of items to your doorstep. While our normal processing time from receiving your order during business hours enables us to pick, pack and ship within a 24 - 48 hour time frame, many of our vendors and manufacturers have a slightly longer pick, pack and ship time frame. Orders not being shipped directly from our warehouse have a 2 - 4 day processing time. These items are noted on their respective item detail pages with the notation "This item ships directly from...". If you are in need of receiving your item sooner, please contact our customer service department before you place your order and a customer service representative will help you choose the best shipping option.

Delivery Times:

Next Day Air: Next business day after ship date. Order must be placed by 10am PST in order to guarantee shipping out same day. Orders placed after this time may be shipped the following business day. (Please read below for Friday exceptions) 

3-Day Select: Within 3 business days after ship date.

Ground: Within 3-10 business days after ship date.

Freight: Within 10-15 business days.

 

The above information is for reference only, and is not always reflective of true time frames. “Business days” are Monday through Friday. Orders received after 1pm PST will be processed on the next business day. Orders cannot be shipped on weekends. Orders placed on Friday after 10am PST will ship on the following Monday unless special service is requested (there is a service charge for extraordinary shipping circumstances). Please note that delivery times may be extended due to holidays or local conditions. Certain shipping methods may not be available for certain items or to certain locations. A Surfas Culinary District customer service representative may contact you to inform you of possible restrictions. We reserve the right to select the shipping method on all free shipments and on all special promotions. If you need to return an item to us, please read our Returns Policy for more information.


Perishable Overnight Shipments placed after 1pm PST on Thursdays will not ship until the next business day AFTER the weekend. This is due to our shipping carriers not shipping on weekends and the possibility of spoilage.

International Shipments

Surfas Culinary District has partnered with International Checkout, to provide services for our international customers.  If you would like to make an international purchase, simply add items you wish to purchase to Your Cart and choose the “ Secure International Checkout” option in yellow.  The items in Your Cart will be transferred  to International Checkout for processing.  You may pay by credit card, paypal, or bank transfer.  International Checkout will process your order, and will provide customer service, and shipping information.  Once the order is complete, all inquiries should be addressed to International Checkout.

You will be responsible for all shipping costs from Surfas Culinary District to International Checkout, the freight forwarder of your choice and then to the address of your choice, as well as all taxes, duties and other costs that may be involved with shipping your purchase within and outside of the United States unless otherwise noted. Orders for Accessories shipping outside of the United States placed with Surfas Culinary District by International Checkout for you will be shipped to International Checkout by Surfas Culinary District via Standard Shipping free of charge. Orders placed by international customers shipping to locations within the United States will have domestic shipping charges added to their order. Oversize charges will apply where required. Standard shipping is not available for any order shipping to International Checkout. It is the purchaser's responsibility to insure proper insurance coverage is available to cover loss or damage for orders shipped outside of the US. Surfas Culinary District offers no warranty service for orders shipped Internationally. All  International orders on food are final, no returns or exchanges will be accepted.

We do not ship out warm weather package option for international orders. 
All vendor warranties are considered null and void without exception for international orders.

 

Return Procedure 


1. Returns due to defective claims must be in accordance with the manufacturer warranties. Defective items must be returned to the manufacturer clean and intact with all parts as sold. The manufacturer will determine replacement or repair. Save all information, including instructions and boxes for shipping address and phone number. 

2. No returns will be accepted without a return authorization. To obtain a return authorization email customer service at: customerservice@surfasonline.com. We will address the issue immediately.

3. All items must have the original labels affixed, and must be in the same condition as sold. No used items will be accepted for a return. Surfas Culinary District does not accept items for return that have been misused and/or damaged after purchase. Questions about the proper use of any item should be asked before purchase.

4. All returns must be done within 15 days of purchase or the sale is final. An original receipt must accompany all returns. All returns are subject to a 25% restocking fee (unless it is Surfas Culinary District's error).

5. Surfas Culinary District does not accept any returns on food items or special orders.

6. All round trip shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer unless Surfas Culinary District made an error in shipping the wrong item or shipped the item to the wrong address in which case we are happy to make the corrections at our expense. At Surfas Culinary District we do our best to ensure that your items are packaged correctly. If an item was damaged during shipping please follow these recommendations: 


-Inspect the shipment verifying that there is no physical damage to the exterior of the package and note any damage on the delivery documentation of the shipping company before accepting the delivery. Verify the number of packages delivered and check against the packing slip 
- Unpack the order immediately. Note any damage to the inner packaging and or items. Retain all shipping materials and packaging and immediately contact the shipping company via phone and writing to request an inspection. Any hidden damage must be reported to the shipping company within 5 days of delivery. 
- After completing the above steps, obtain a return authorization. To obtain a return authorization please log into your account and open a case. We will address the issue immediately. SurfasOnline.com toll free number is 877-641-2661 for further assistance.

7. Surfas Culinary District is not responsible for any damaged items signed for at delivery. Surfas Culinary District will not be responsible for perishable items that that could not be delivered because of an address mistake made by the customer or non-delivery because someone was not available to receive it.
